takes first step to join the IP Coalition
Following its initial meeting with the Executive
Committee of the Intellectual Property Coalition (http://www.ipcoalition.ph),
Digital today submitted its Application for Membership to
the respected organization. The IP Coalition aims, through
focused advocacy, education, and enforcement monitoring programs,
to serve as the primary policy caucus of industry organizations
and stakeholder associations that promote the protection and
advancement of intellectual property rights.
As such, the Coalition strives to:
• Serve as the private sector forum
to discuss and deliberate upon intellectual property issues,
so that mutual areas of concern can be identified and resolved
together
• Participate as the voice of the private
sector in the public policy process on matters affecting intellectual
property;
• Initiate and coordinate with government
agencies to educate and enhance public awareness of intellectual
property as a fundamental component of national development;
and
• Monitor the implementation of laws,
rules, and regulations for the protection of intellectual
property.
